Where I Stand On The Issues

I'm running for County Commission because working families in Washington County deserve affordable healthcare, fair taxes, and a local government that listens. I'm not running to play politics; I'm running to fix problems.

Environment

Washington County deserves clean air, clean water, and a safe future for our families. Right now, our community is facing an unpopular rezoning request from BWXT that raises serious concerns about potential uranium contamination and long-term environmental harm.
This is not a partisan issue--Democrats and Republicans alike have spoken out against this proposal because protecting our neighbors must come before corporate convenience.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure is more than roads and bridges--it's about building a community where families can thrive. Washington County needs smart, responsible investments that support growth while protecting the rural character we value.
We need housing people can afford and jobs that pay enough to stay here.  That means investing locally, supporting small businesses, and building infrastructure that brings opportunity home.

Fiscal Responsibility

Our county budget shows what we value.
I respect the work it takes to balance a budget, but this year proved we can do better--especially for our schools. People deserve a real voice in how their tax dollars are spent. Transparency and truth matter. We can be fiscally responsible and invest in our schools, infrastructure, and essential services. I believe Washington County's budget should reflect our values and our future.

Healthcare

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.  In our region, families are struggling under rising costs and limited options, made worse by the monopoly control of Ballad Health. When one corporation dominates care then patients lose choice, workers face unfair conditions and lack of competitive wages, and communities pay the ultimate price.
Medical decisions should never depend on whether or not you can pay your bills this month. Healthcare should be affordable and accessible to everyone.

Economic Opportunity

People in Washington County work hard, and they deserve an economy that works for them. That means good-paying jobs, affordable housing, and being able to buy groceries without falling behind.
Right now, too many families feel squeezed by rising costs and limited opportunities. We need common-sense solutions that support local workers, strengthen small businesses, and make it easier for young families and seniors to stay in the community they call home.

Public Education

Strong public schools are the foundation of strong communities. I believe every child deserves a high-quality education--not one determined by wealth, politics, or privatization schemes. Pathways to good jobs out of high school or advancing to college/trade school should be an option for all students.
Fully funding schools is essential to providing the best possible education and showing our teachers that they are trusted and valued. Public Education should serve students, families, and communities--not corporate profits or partisan agendas
If you want healthcare that works, an economy that’s fair, and leaders who listen,
I’d be honored to earn your vote.
